I’m just super fucking bitter that once the flint water crisis got it’s 15 minutes of fame people stopped giving a shit. The water is still poisoned, people! Donations have plummeted and people have been forced back into drinking and bathing with the water! The medical effects of this are astounding, cases of legionnaires disease have skyrocketed, people are having seizures, people are having weird rashes break out over their body, people (including me!) are having their blood poisoned, and it’s not just lead! it’s coliform bacteria! it’s THMs! it’s all in the water and it gets into the bloodstream and breaks down blood vessels, causing bruising and petechiae and internal bleeding and no one gives a shit anymore and it’s only gotten worse like how many people are going to have to die until people realize this is still a problem

I want to see the landscape of science fiction and fantasy to become a city of reflections, blatant and elusive. I want so many examples that we can point to the variety and note the great and the terrible and the in-between without the fear of pointing out the fractures. The marginalized shouldn’t be feel like they are trapped inside the gilded frame of diversity nor should they be denied the ability of tell their own stories. Stories about the marginalized shouldn’t be lifted by the privileged to profit from that exposure, either.
The purpose of representation isn’t only about white, straight, cis folk relating to the “Other”. It is about me, a queer Asian-American woman, relating to you, who is black (and/or Muslim and/or trans and/or deaf and/or, and/or…). Representation should be a network of connections, not a single link between a minority exception and a standardized whole.

To all you gardeners out there,
Don’t give up if your plants die. I know it’s annoying, and difficult and you’re gonna wonder what you’re doing wrong. But I personally assure you that even someone with the brownest thumb can turn it green. Just like everything, gardening takes time and practice. You’re going to lose plants, you’re going to make mistakes and it’ll be frustrating but eventually you’re going to learn what to do. I have so many healthy plants it isn’t even funny. But when I first started I killed everything I touched until finally I just learned so much from my mistakes I didn’t make them anymore.
Remember, don’t give up, and I believe in you ❤️
Ive bought like. 5 cyclamen over the past 3 years because i love cyclamen and they have all died prematurely except one. My current one. Im holding on to hope ❤
